Richard S. Davidson, MD is a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He has been at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia since 1982. He is also a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon at the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Philadelphia. He is a member of many national and local societies, including the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society (Past President). Dr. Davidson takes special interest both in research and clinical care in the correction of limb deformities and limb length inequalities due to femoral, tibial and fibular displasias; growth injuries and disturbances; congenital malformations; fracture mal-unions and non-unions; congenital non-unions; Blounts disease; genu varus and valgus; rickets, among other illnesses and syndromes. He is also intensively involved in the treatment of congenital and acquired deformities of the foot and ankle, including clubfoot (Ponseti and other methods), skew foot, vertical talus, tarsal coalition, Hallux valgus, painful flat foot, and Spina Bifida, among other deformities. He has published and lectured widely around the world on these and other topics and has authored and coauthored textbook chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals. |
